The Facel III “Type FB” was produced from 1963 through 1965. After factory production ended in 1964, vehicle assembly from remaining part stock was continued by the Facel Service Center through 1966. The models offered were a 2+2 seat convertible, 2+2 seat coupe, with one 2-seat coupe, made. The front grills were updated with premium, precision-made aluminum bar inserts, the center dash came with five gauges, and the dashboard had an artisan-applied burled wood painted finish. Powered by a Volvo B18 108 cubic inch overhead valve 4-cylinder engine, the sports car now offered industry-leading reliability. The Volvo 4-speed transmission could be fitted with a Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive, ideal for highway driving. The frame was updated to accept a new powertrain and 4-wheel disc brakes were standard. Desirable options include a removable convertible hardtop and Nardi racing steering wheel.
